On October 11th, Wang Yawei, spokesperson for the China Meteorological Administration and director of the Disaster Reduction Service Department, stated at a press conference of the State Council Information Office that relevant guidance on the development of low altitude economic meteorological support services will be formulated and issued in the future. Standards and specifications will be established, infrastructure will be built, application scenarios will be created, service models will be improved, and the supportive role of meteorology will be fully utilized. Wang Yawei said that since the 14th Five Year Plan, the China Meteorological Administration has made a lot of exploration in promoting low altitude economic meteorological support. It has created a new service model in low altitude standard design, infrastructure planning, and flight service support for multiple application scenarios such as low altitude production operations, low altitude public services, and low altitude logistics, transportation, and consumption. Accelerating technological innovation in low altitude economic meteorological services, the China Meteorological Administration has developed a high-resolution 3D meteorological model specifically designed for low altitude use, providing precise meteorological services such as wind fields and visibility for various low altitude economic scenarios, ensuring the safe operation of low altitude aircraft such as drones. Strengthening legislation to support low altitude economic meteorological support work, Guangzhou and Shenzhen have taken the lead in legalizing the functions of low altitude flight meteorological support.
