On September 30th, the first batch of observation images and detection data of the four scientific payloads of the "Smile" satellite jointly developed by China and Europe were released. At present, the satellite has successfully passed the in orbit test summary review and entered the scientific operation stage. The "Smile" satellite was successfully launched on May 19, 2026 at the Kourou Space Center in French Guiana. After about a month of orbit change operation, the satellite reached a scientific observation orbit of 5120 kilometers at perigee and 120900 kilometers at apogee on June 20th. After arriving at the designated orbit, the payload module and scientific payload were successively turned on, and the equipment worked normally. The scientific payload completed in orbit debugging and calibration, and obtained effective scientific data, which met expectations. The team of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has independently completed all operations of the satellite payload module, laying a solid foundation for the first time to realize the overall imaging observation of the interaction between the solar wind and the Earth's magnetosphere, and dynamically revealing the solar wind magnetosphere coupling process. The four scientific payloads are in good overall working condition. Both China and Europe highly appreciate this cooperation and highly recognize the results of satellite in orbit testing and cooperation achievements.
