Space42 and Viasat reach a $1 billion network connectivity enhancement platform agreement

On September 13th local time, it was reported that a statement showed that artificial intelligence aerospace technology company Space42 and Viasat signed an agreement to jointly establish the platform "Equatys". This platform will integrate space and ground infrastructure, supporting the expansion of mobile coverage and overlay networks in areas where ground networks cannot cover. Space42 and Viasat will each commit to an initial equity investment of $400 million, with Space42 expected to invest an additional $200 million in future equity financing rounds open to third-party investors. Viasat is expected to be appointed as the main technology contractor for Equatys.
