The China Geographic Information Industry Association recently released the "Proposal on Resisting" Internal Competition and Promoting High Quality Development of China's Geographic Information Industry "(hereinafter referred to as the" Proposal "), calling on the entire industry to resist" internal competition ", advocate industry self-discipline, and promote high-quality development of the geographic information industry.

Geographic information is an important new production factor and data resource. As a strategic emerging industry, the geographic information industry has become an important component of the digital economy, an important engine for economic transformation and upgrading, and a typical representative of new quality productivity. Affected by various complex factors, the structural contradiction between supply and demand has intensified in some fields in recent years, resulting in varying degrees of "internal competition", disrupting market order, damaging the overall interests of the industry, eroding the driving force of enterprise innovation and development, and restricting the high-quality and sustainable development of the industry.

The "Proposal" points out that rectifying "internal competition" is an important measure to regulate competition order, promote economic recovery and improvement, and shift the development mode from extensive expansion to quality and efficiency. It is an inherent requirement for building a unified national market and constructing a high-level socialist market economy system. Based on the actual situation of China's geographic information industry, the association has issued initiatives to the entire industry from seven aspects: enhancing responsibility awareness, competing in accordance with laws and regulations, adhering to innovation leadership, strengthening collaborative cooperation, deepening application potential, expanding international markets, and jointly building a credit system. It advocates for a healthy and orderly market environment based on the quality of achievements, service value, technological innovation, and application expansion, and jointly promotes the effective improvement of quality and reasonable growth of the geographic information industry.

At the same time, the association calls on relevant departments and demanders to strictly implement laws, regulations, and relevant policy documents such as the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Promotion of Private Economy, the Regulations on Fair Competition Review, the Regulations on Optimizing the Business Environment, and the Regulations on the Construction of a Unified National Market, continuously optimize bidding rules, reduce price weight, and increase technical evaluation weight.

The association calls on the entire geographic information industry to be value oriented, regulations based, self disciplined to promote standardization, and innovative to seek long-term development. We must resolutely abandon disorderly and homogeneous low efficiency competition, jointly maintain a healthy and orderly market environment, build a collaborative and win-win ecosystem for the entire industry chain, and take a high-quality and sustainable development path.

The "Opinions on Promoting Deepening Reform of Industry Associations and Chambers of Commerce" issued in April this year clearly states that industry associations and chambers of commerce should establish and improve industry self-discipline management systems and self-discipline constraint mechanisms, and consciously resist "internal competition". The association has issued the above initiative to the entire industry, aiming to maintain a good industry ecology, stimulate innovation and creativity, promote the development of new quality productivity, guide the entire industry to forge core competitiveness with high-quality products and services, and promote the high-quality development of China's geographic information industry.
