On May 20th, the 2026 Global Spatio Temporal Intelligence Expo (WGDC2026) was held in Beijing. Liu Yaoqi, Chairman of China Science and Technology Computing, delivered a keynote speech titled "The Destruction and Symbiosis of Space Computing Power" at the Forum on Commercial Aerospace and Space Computing Power that afternoon, focusing on the stage of satellite Internet industry and the path of commercialization, jokingly saying that "affordable mobile phones popularizing satellite communications" is a key sign of the industry's maturity.

Liu Yaoqi compared the development process of the ground mobile Internet and the current satellite Internet: "I think the current satellite Internet is a bit like the 1G in the past, but with our technological development and industrial growth, it may soon move towards the 2G era. ”
He took the satellite Internet service under Musk as an example to demonstrate the trend of price reduction and inclusive benefits in the industry: from the monthly service fees to free equipment gifts, "this reminds me of giving mobile phones for charging when I was young, and one day (users) passively accepted this."
He made an analogy with the fingerprint recognition function: "The earliest fingerprint recognition was only used on high-end mobile phones, but with the cost getting lower and lower, 699 yuan of red rice can also support the fingerprint recognition function." Therefore, he said with a smile, "When red rice mobile phones can also use satellite communications, our satellite Internet constellation will have a higher probability of success in industrialization."
