On October 31st, Xiaomi Group confirmed that Li Chuangqi has resigned and there have been no changes to the relevant business structure. The company's AI glasses business will not be affected. However, as of the time of publication, on the Weibo platform, Li Chuangqi's personal authentication profile still shows as "Director of Xiaomi's Audiovisual Entertainment Products".
It is reported that Li Chuangqi submitted a strategic report to Lei Jun in June 2024, promoting the formal approval of AI glasses and emphasizing the importance of glasses as an entry point to the wearable ecosystem. Afterwards, he also led the research and commercialization process of Xiaomi's AI glasses, which were released in June 2025 with a starting price of 1999 yuan. Li Chuangqi once hoped to take the smart glasses industry chain one step further with the help of the Xiaomi platform within three years. According to his vision, the annual shipment volume of Xiaomi AI glasses is expected to exceed five million by then.
According to his public resume, Li Chuangqi was born in February 1978. In 2002, he graduated from Northwest Light Industry College (now Shaanxi University of Science and Technology) with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design; In 2024, he obtained a Master's degree in Psychology from Arizona State University in the United States. Since joining Xiaomi in 2011, he has served as the head of various business positions, including the head of the audio-visual entertainment business, director of Xiaomi TV products, general manager of the intelligent office business unit, and general manager of the digital consumption business unit.
