On November 5th, according to sources familiar with the matter, Qi Junyuan, the product manager of ByteDance's Doubao PC platform, has resigned. According to industry insiders, several US dollar funds have actively approached Qi Junyuan, not only because he has a successful entrepreneurial background, but also because of his deep experience in bean bun products and unique understanding of AI application productization. But there are also reports indicating that Qi Junyuan currently has no plans to start a business.
Qi Junyuan graduated from the Department of Information Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a bachelor's degree. During his university years, he founded Teambition, which was one of the earliest collaborative office SaaS products in China. The project was acquired by Alibaba for $100 million in 2019, and subsequently joined Alibaba as the head of Alibaba Cloud Drive. Qi Junyuan joined Feishu in early 2023 and transferred to Flow in 2024, responsible for the PC product of Doubao.
On September 24th, Zhao Qi, the HR manager of ByteDance AI line, was transferred to the Spring Product Department (including Flow, Ocean and other teams), responsible for the work of Doubao products, leading the user products and model strategy products of Doubao mobile/PC, and reporting to Alex (Zhu Jun), Vice President of ByteDance Products. At the same time, the original PC (Qi Junyuan), mobile (Luyou), and model strategy product managers of Doubao have been changed to report to Zhao Qi. At the same time, in order to strengthen the collaboration between Doubao and Feishu's office suite, Feishu's product manager Tong Yao reported to Zhao Qi with a dotted line.
