The first domestically produced satellite based high-precision positioning service trial commercial release of "Tiantong+Beidou" in China

On November 21st, the 2025 Mobile Communication High Quality Development Forum opened in Wuhan, Hubei. During the conference, China Telecom officially released the trial commercial use of the "Tiantong+Beidou" domestically produced satellite based high-precision positioning service, aiming to fill the gap in the field of domestically independent, controllable, and low-cost satellite based high-precision positioning services, assist in the large-scale application of Beidou, and support the independent construction of China's comprehensive PNT system (i.e. the spatiotemporal technology system composed of positioning, navigation, and timing systems). The "Tiantong+Beidou" satellite based navigation enhancement system focuses on providing services to remote areas, oceans, low altitude, low orbit and other areas with no network/weak network coverage. Its application scenarios include surveying and mapping, agricultural machinery autonomous driving, intelligent driving navigation, ocean dynamic positioning, ocean meteorological monitoring, offshore construction and construction, drone inspection, drone distribution, low altitude navigation, etc.
