Xiaopeng Motors Chairman He Xiaopeng stated at the performance meeting on November 17th that the long-term potential of the robotics market exceeds that of the automotive industry. He believes that once the robotics industry crosses a critical turning point, it will usher in an explosive growth phase.

Xiaopeng Motors' third quarter revenue reached 20.38 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 101.8%. The total delivery volume is about 116000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 149.3%. The gross profit margin reached 20.1%, a year-on-year increase of 4.8 percentage points. The company is only 380 million yuan away from the breakeven point with a net loss.

It is reported that Xiaopeng Robotics plans to achieve annual sales of over 1 million units by 2030. He Xiaopeng revealed that the current robot products are already the seventh generation, and the eighth generation robot products will undergo real mass production. He pointed out that existing robots are mainly driven by joints, with software and hardware capabilities focused on operation control, and gait presenting a consistent state, making it difficult to achieve commercial applications.

In terms of cost control, Xiaopeng found that the material list cost of robots will eventually approach the cost of automobiles. At the same time, there is a significant difference in software investment between the two. The cost of automotive software accounts for only 10% of the total cost, while the cost of robot software accounts for as much as 50%. Based on this cost structure analysis, He Xiaopeng stated that in the future, robot prices will strive to approach the level of car prices.

Xiaopeng plans to start robot testing in stores and parks in 2026, and then invest in commercial scenarios such as shopping guides, tour guides, and front desks. It is expected that robots will have the opportunity to enter household use scenarios within 5 years.

In the field of autonomous driving, Xiaopeng will first improve the technical operation and business model of Robotaxi under the premise of regulatory approval. The company plans to engage in deep cooperation with partners such as Gaode, with each party assuming different roles and responsibilities. Gaode is responsible for traffic entry, payment, and operation services, while Xiaopeng focuses on toolbox and open interface capability building.

Xiaopeng Robotaxi adopts a technology route different from the mainstream industry, without using high-precision maps and LiDAR. According to the plan, the company will launch three Robotaxi models in 2026 and start trial operation services in China.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, Xiaopeng Motors expects a total delivery volume of 125000 to 132000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 36.6% to 44.3%. The total revenue is expected to reach 21.5 billion yuan to 23 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 33.5% to 42.8%.
