On September 24th, according to informed sources, Zhao Qi, the head of human resources for ByteDance AI, was transferred to the Spring Product Department (including Flow, Ocean, and other teams) to be responsible for the Doubao product work, leading the user products and model strategy products of Doubao mobile/PC, and reporting to Alex (Zhu Jun), Vice President of ByteDance Product. The original product managers for PC, Mobile, and model strategy in Doubao have been changed to report to Zhao Qi. At the same time, in order to strengthen the collaboration between Doubao and Feishu's office suite, Feishu's product manager Tong Yao reported to Zhao Qi with a dotted line.
Zhao Qi is a veteran of ByteDance and has served as the head of ByteDance's growth center and pangolin. In 2022, Zhao Qi transferred to the human resources department of the group. Before this job transfer, Zhao Qi was responsible for the human resources work of the AI line and reported to Hua Wei, the human resources manager of ByteDance. Before joining ByteDance, Zhao Qi had worked at Douban and Doudoujia. At present, Qi Junyuan, the former founder of Teambidding and the former head of Feishu products, is responsible for Doubao PC products, while Lu You, the former head of Tiktok social products, is responsible for mobile products.
In April of this year, the ByteDance AI product team underwent a product architecture adjustment: Liang Chenqi, the person in charge of the social companion AI product cat box, resigned, and the person in charge was replaced by Xiyuan (Huaming), the former product manager of Xinghui. Doubao, cat box and Star Painting, Doubao Aixue and Gauthmath are all products of Flow, the AI product department of ByteDance. Flow is managed by Zhu Jun, who was the former head of TikTok and founded Musical.ly earlier. When ByteDance decided to explore AI products in March 2023, Zhu Jun began to be responsible for Flow.
