Recently, the China Remote Sensing Application Association announced the first batch of technical manager level evaluation results in the field of remote sensing, marking a solid step forward in the training of specialized technology transfer talents in the remote sensing industry.
Technical managers refer to personnel in the technology market who provide specialized services such as intellectual property strategy consulting, technology evaluation, technology integration, technology financing, and technology promotion for both technology supply and demand sides, with the aim of promoting the transformation of achievements. With the increasing emphasis on technological innovation in China, the construction of a team of technical managers has become an important lever for promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. As early as in the Occupational Classification Code of the People's Republic of China (2022 Edition), the professional requirements of "technical managers" were clearly defined, providing normative guidance for their professional development. At the same time, the release of the group standard "Technical Manager Capability Evaluation Specification" (T/CASTEM1007-2022) has further improved the technical manager capability evaluation system.
The evaluation of the level of technical managers in the field of remote sensing was carried out under the guidance and work deployment of the China Association for Science and Technology. The China Remote Sensing Application Association has formulated the "Evaluation Specification for Technical Managers' Abilities in the Field of Remote Sensing" based on relevant standards, and will organize evaluation work for member units, branch offices, and relevant parties in early May 2025. The evaluation process includes voluntary registration, pre exam coaching, system registration, and an evaluation exam that includes written and defense exams. As a result, a total of 23 technical managers in the field of primary remote sensing, 9 technical managers in the field of intermediate remote sensing, and 14 technical managers in the field of advanced remote sensing were selected. These personnel will receive the Technical Manager Capability Evaluation Certificate issued by the China Remote Sensing Application Association and be invited to join the "Sci Tech Innovation China" digital platform technical manager pool.
The birth of the first batch of technical managers in the field of remote sensing is of great significance to the development of the remote sensing industry. With their professional knowledge and market acumen, they are expected to more accurately explore the market value of remote sensing technology achievements, accelerate the transformation process from laboratory to market, promote the application and landing of remote sensing technology in more fields, and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of China's remote sensing industry.
