Recently, financial writer Wu Xiaobo livestreamed a visit to NIO's smart factory, where NIO founder, chairman, and CEO Li Bin took him to visit the chip flashing area. On July 7th, Li Bin posted on Weibo that developing our own chips is a difficult road, but it is also a path that must be taken, and we will continue to work hard to move forward.

It is reported that Li Bin introduced the NIO NX9031 chip during the live broadcast, stating: "This is the world's first 5nm intelligent driving chip for automotive specifications. It should be said that mass production is very difficult, and it needs to support low latency and fast response. ”In addition, Li Bin also stated that this chip is open to the entire industry, and anyone who wants to use it can come to us, which can also reduce costs.

It is reported that the Shenji NX9031 chip and underlying software have been independently designed, with over 50 billion transistors. The chip adopts a 32 core CPU architecture and LPDDR 5x memory, with a speed of 8533Mbps. It is equipped with a high-performance ISP with high dynamic range and 6.5G Pixel/s pixel processing capability, with a processing delay of less than 5nm. Li Bin said that the performance of a single Shenji NX9031 is equivalent to four Nvidia Orin-X chips, and the super strong computing power and ultra-high bandwidth can support the continuous upgrading of NIO World models.
