On May 21st, Wu Sensen, a specially appointed researcher at the School of Earth Sciences, Zhejiang University, gave a keynote speech titled "Fuxi Wanxiang Spatiotemporal Computing Large Model: Engine for Intelligent Analysis of Earth Space" at the 2025 Global Spatiotemporal Intelligence Conference (WGDC2025).
He pointed out that the Earth is a four-dimensional complex dynamic system, which includes not only the three-dimensional space system of modern Earth (deep space, deep sea, and deep earth), but also the time dimensional system of the 4.6 billion year evolution history of the Earth (deep time). Earth big data has become a new foundation and driving force for modern earth science research.
At present, there are problems in the intelligent analysis of Earth's space, such as sparse geological data that is difficult to support comprehensive research and complex geological spatiotemporal calculation processes. Generative AI is reshaping the technology and industrial ecosystem, bringing new opportunities for research on Earth space intelligence. Collaborative construction of geospatial spatiotemporal computing big models, empowering AI for Geoscience innovation research.
He stated that in the future, efforts will be made to create AI intelligent microkernels, while building a dual loop Earth space intelligent agent platform for data services and visual scene services, serving more industries. In the future, we also hope to jointly create an innovative model of AI+geoscience for industry, politics, academia, and research, as well as an intelligent geoscience paradigm. ”
