On May 29th, it was reported by the media from multiple sources that Chen Guang, former CTO of FAW Nanjing Research Institute, has joined Xiaomi Auto as the head of assisted driving perception, reporting to Ye Hangjun, the head of assisted driving at Xiaomi. Before joining Xiaomi Auto, Chen Guang was the CTO of FAW Nanjing Research Institute, responsible for the overall technology research and architecture design of the autonomous driving business. He led the team to develop the third-generation L4 level fully unmanned Robotaxi (autonomous taxi) for FAW Hongqi. FAW Nanjing Research Institute is a subsidiary of FAW Group, but there have been rumors of the team disbanding recently.

StrongerTang previously revealed that FAW Nanjing has completely disbanded, and this dissolution plan will compensate N+4, or choose to return to the Changchun headquarters or compete for other positions in the group without compensation. More than 100 employees are affected by this dissolution.

At present, Xiaomi's car assisted driving team is divided into two major groups: "end-to-end" algorithm and function, and technology pre research. After joining Xiaomi, Chen Guang's main task is to continuously promote the implementation of "end-to-end" functions.
