At the opening ceremony, the International Digital Earth Society presented important honors and awards. In recognition of the outstanding achievements of Academician Li Deren, winner of the 2023 National Highest Science and Technology Award, in the field of Earth Space Information Science and his outstanding contributions to the global development of Digital Earth, as well as the outstanding contributions made by Alessandro Arnoni, President of the International Digital Earth Society, to promote the vision of Digital Earth, the society has awarded the highest honorary title of "International Digital Earth Society Fellow" to two individuals p>
During the special presentation session of the conference, Li Deren gave a report titled "Space time Intelligence Promotes Sustainable Development Goals", showcasing the series of achievements of space time intelligence in serving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially in disaster emergency response, economic development monitoring, forest fire and earthquake early warning, and other areas. He also emphasized the "digital twin grid", which is a microcosm of the practical significance of the digital earth vision.
The "2025 Digital Earth Chongqing Declaration" will be released at the closing ceremony of the conference.
