Recently, the Science and Technology Development Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, together with the Major Special Engineering Center of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, organized a summary and review meeting for the in orbit testing of the ocean salinity detection satellite project in Beijing. This marks that the satellite has completed all in orbit testing work and can be delivered to users for long-term use. The Ocean Salinity Detection Satellite is a scientific research satellite in the national civil space infrastructure. It was developed by the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and successfully launched by the Long March 4B carrier rocket on November 14, 2024. This satellite is China's first remote sensing satellite used for obtaining ocean salinity information, which improves the ocean satellite observation system and fills the gap in spaceborne ocean salinity detection, and has important milestone significance.
