Breaking the foreign blockade, Wuhan University team overcomes Beidou high-precision chip technology

The research team of Wuhan University recently announced a major breakthrough in the field of "Beidou high-precision positioning and timing chip development and integrated application of communication, navigation and remote sensing". This project is the "Sharp Knife" technology research and development project of the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, which successfully developed the Beidou high-precision positioning SoC chip (including vehicle grade) and seamless indoor and outdoor positioning module, achieving independent and controllable core technology, and solving the "bottleneck" problem in China's high-precision positioning and timing field that has long been restricted by foreign patent barriers. The power consumption of the positioning chip is as low as 90mW (international advanced level is 200mW), and the static monitoring accuracy reaches 2-3 millimeters (international advanced level is 5mm). Its core performance is leading the international market, breaking the technological blockade of foreign companies such as Qualcomm and Broadcom. This achievement has been widely applied and has achieved significant industrialization results. In the fields of smart cities and intelligent connected vehicles, Beidou high-precision chips and modules provide precise location services for vehicle positioning and urban facility management; In the field of geological hazard monitoring and early warning, with a static monitoring accuracy of 2-3 millimeters, it helps to accurately prevent and control hidden disaster points; The fields of smart campus, smart transportation, and unmanned agricultural machinery have also achieved demonstration applications, generating outstanding benefits. In terms of industrialization, a total of 118000 positioning chips were sold in the first year, achieving a production value of 53 million yuan; In the second year, a total of 172000 positioning chips and 28000 timing chips were sold, with a new production value of 76.336 million yuan for products and services, and the market recognition continued to increase.
