Nanchang Xinjian District collaborates with Beidou Fuxi to plan and construct the city's first low altitude three-dimensional transportation pilot demonstration zone

Nanchang Release 18 Jul 2025 17:47

On July 17th, it was reported that Nanchang Xinjian District, in conjunction with Beidou Fuxi Information Technology Co., Ltd., is planning to build Nanchang's first low altitude three-dimensional transportation pilot demonstration zone.

The core of this demonstration zone is to build a digital low altitude road network that is visible, manageable, and safe to fly. The demonstration zone covers an area of approximately 10 square kilometers (north to Wangbei Avenue and adjacent to Nanchang Ring Expressway, south to Longxing Street, west to Guanma Street and Hongtu Avenue, and east to Yutai Street). The project will use Beidou grid coding technology to divide the airspace into meter level three-dimensional grids, establish a detailed model through oblique photography, mark the areas that can be flown and those that are prohibited from flying, and provide high-precision maps for the safe and orderly flight of drones. The project will simultaneously construct a low altitude airspace management system, a situational display system, and a control service center to achieve real-time aggregation and three-dimensional visualization control of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) full business data, and create a "smart brain" for low altitude three-dimensional transportation.

The demonstration zone will take the lead in incubating two major low altitude application scenarios. On the one hand, urban governance has gained new tools. By deploying drones and aircraft nests, comprehensive, uninterrupted, and unmanned inspections can be carried out within a 10 square kilometer area of the pilot demonstration zone. Supervision can be implemented in areas such as urban water source inspections, traffic supervision, urban management, and environmental governance, empowering cities to achieve refined management. On the other hand, logistics transportation is more efficient. At the Huyang Base in Shigang Town, a drone delivery route for lamb meat will be opened, effectively solving the problems of high delivery costs and low delivery time for C-end customers, and opening up a new convenient logistics model.
