On July 28th, it was reported that Xiaomi's first AI glasses were officially released at the end of June this year. According to reports, Li Chuangqi, the project leader of Xiaomi's AI glasses, revealed that the project was approved by Xiaomi's founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun. Li Chuangqi revealed that Xiaomi's first AI glasses were quickly out of stock after their release. The team found that sales exceeded their previous expectations by several times, even though they had already "gritted their teeth" to stock up, with a quantity exceeding half of the industry's startup companies' annual volume.
Li Chuangqi also stated that in order to make this project as successful as possible within a limited time, almost all of them chose the most expensive components. Although the current price of 1999 yuan has a gross profit margin, it is still a loss for the overall investment. Li Chuangqi hopes to have the opportunity to use the Xiaomi platform to push the smart glasses industry chain forward within three years. By then, the annual shipment volume of Xiaomi AI glasses may exceed five million, and there are already over 700 million myopic people in China. The shipment volume of smart glasses may exceed 50 million. As previously reported, the glasses are priced from 1999 yuan and come in three frame options, supporting both offline and online lens matching; Equipped with a 12MP lens, open headphones, Super Love, and an optional electrochromic lens version.
