On June 6th, the Hainan Commercial Aerospace Roundtable was held in Hong Kong to explore the cooperation paths between Hainan and Hong Kong in areas such as rocket links, satellite links, data links, and aerospace tourism.
The theme of this forum is "Sharing New Opportunities in Commercial Aerospace and Building a New Chapter of Collaboration between Hainan and Hong Kong". During the communication session, representatives from Hainan and Hong Kong respectively introduced their respective advantages and industrial foundations, and looked forward to future cooperation directions. Hainan has unique geographical advantages, excellent ecological environment, abundant tourism resources, and open policy support, and has built the country's first commercial space launch site with dual station launch capabilities. Hong Kong plays the role of "internal connectivity and external connectivity" under the "One Country, Two Systems" policy, serving as a two-way platform for mainland enterprises to expand into the global market and for global enterprises to enter the mainland market.
Zhuo Yongxing, Deputy Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, welcomed Hainan Province to come to Hong Kong to seek cooperation projects and carry out commercial cooperation in areas such as rocket chain and satellite chain. At present, low Earth orbit satellites are a new trend in global satellite development, suitable for widespread application in fields such as transportation logistics and smart tourism. Hong Kong will complete the research on simplifying the application for low orbit satellite licenses within this year, hoping that the simplified system can attract investment and talent to use Hong Kong as a base and vigorously develop low orbit satellite business.
Fan Yunjun, General Manager of China Tourism Group, said that Hainan has unique conditions for developing space tourism. Hong Kong and Hainan are located on the coast of the South China Sea and are both free trade ports. They have a high degree of synergy and complementarity in the field of space tourism, and there is vast space for cooperation.
Currently, the commercial aerospace cooperation between Hainan and Hong Kong is entering a historic period of strategic opportunities. In the future, Hainan and Hong Kong are expected to build "four communities" of commercial launch innovation, satellite intelligent manufacturing industry, aerospace culture and tourism integration, and international cooperation demonstration, explore the establishment of an investment and financing system that conforms to international commercial aerospace rules, create a new paradigm of satellite industry of "Hong Kong R&D, Hainan intelligent manufacturing, and global application", jointly build a brand matrix of aerospace culture and tourism with international identity, deepen cooperation with countries along the "the Belt and Road" in the fields of satellite data applications, spatial information services, explore a new path for the international development of China's commercial aerospace, and write a new model of regional coordinated development with new breakthroughs in the practice of "one country, two systems".
This roundtable conference is jointly hosted by the People's Government of Hainan Province and China Tourism Group, and jointly organized by the Wenchang International Space City Management Bureau and Hong Kong China Travel Service International Investment Co., Ltd. Officials from relevant departments, universities, and industry associations in Qionggang, as well as representatives from commercial aerospace and financial institutions, attended the meeting.
