On June 20th, it was reported that at MWC2025, Shanghai Tejin, a manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicle control systems, launched the world's first base station based low altitude sensing device based on TDOA (Time Difference of Arrival) positioning technology, and collaborated with operators to explore a multimodal fusion low altitude safety supervision system based on 5G-A+TDOA.
According to the person in charge, the device is a low altitude unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) perception base station. As its name suggests, it is mainly used to monitor low altitude flight paths, protect important facilities, and avoid UAV "black flying" situations. Currently, the base station has been deployed in the Hefei Low altitude Intelligent Networking Infrastructure Demonstration Zone, which can achieve precise detection and early warning of UAVs below 600 meters in low altitude.
In addition, the relevant person in charge stated that the base station was designed to meet the deployment needs of digital infrastructure from the beginning, and can be co located with the communication base station of the operator without emitting any electromagnetic signals, ensuring that public communication and low altitude communication are not affected. Realize low altitude multi-dimensional perception fusion with 5G-A sensing technology as the core, combined with TDOA (time difference of arrival positioning technology), RID (message recognition technology), visual optoelectronics and other technologies, to provide end-to-end support for low altitude management of unmanned aerial vehicles.
