On November 23rd, it was reported that Zhixing, a smart driving company, suddenly notified that employees would not be required to work from tomorrow (November 24th), and the compensation mechanism and subsequent arrangements were not yet clear.

It is reported that there are currently more than 200 employees at WuMo ZhiXing, and the company's accounts have been frozen. Regarding this, the official response from Great Wall Motors has not yet been received, but there are reports that the intelligent driving department of Great Wall Motors has basically divested itself of the technology solutions of Zhixing in its business.

Judging from the official official account of Naomi Zhixing, since June this year, there has been no company information, and the latest update is the festival poster on October 1.

Xiaomo Zhixing was established on November 29, 2019, and its predecessor was the Intelligent Driving System Development Department established by Great Wall Motors in 2015. As an internally incubated autonomous driving subsidiary of Great Wall Motors, it was once a star enterprise in the field of autonomous driving in China. The team integrates the technical backbone of Great Wall Motors and autonomous driving talents from technology companies such as Baidu and Huawei. Xiaomo Zhixing once had a period of rapid development: in November 2020, it launched its first end of pipe logistics automatic delivery vehicle, "Little Magic Camel"; In December 2021, the autonomous driving data intelligence system MANA (Snow Lake) was released; In April 2023, the autonomous driving generative model DriveGPT will be released. At its peak, the company had over a thousand employees, received investments from well-known institutions such as Meituan and Hillhouse, and was continuously selected for the Hurun Global Unicorn List, with a valuation of several billion yuan at one point. As of 2025, its HPilot assisted driving system 3.0 version has been installed in nearly 20 models of brands such as Wei, Tank, and Ora under Great Wall Motors.

In fact, the decline of Zhixing is not without warning. Starting from 2023, the company has carried out layoffs. In November 2024, there were once again reports of layoffs at Wumo Zhixing. The news stated that Wumo Zhixing had launched a layoff plan, and functional departments had already laid off about 30% or even nearly half of their employees. They would compensate the laid-off employees according to the "N+1" standard. At that time, Wumo Zhixing responded to reporters by saying, "The company is undergoing normal organizational restructuring

On June 17th this year, according to 36Kr Auto, Great Wall Motors' intelligent driving company, Wumo Zhixing, is experiencing high-level personnel turmoil. Chairman Zhang Kai has proposed to resign. In addition, several middle and senior management personnel have resigned, including key figures such as Vice President of Technology Ai Rui, Vice President of Product Cai Na, and Zhixing Brand Officer Wang Jia.

The more fatal blow comes from the strategic shift of its major shareholder Great Wall Motors. In March 2024, Yuanrong Qixing began providing end-to-end intelligent driving solutions for Great Wall Motors, including NOA technology solutions for urban areas without maps, and quickly installed them on multiple models of Great Wall Motors. At the same time, it is widely believed in the industry that the development of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride platform has encountered bottlenecks, causing it to lag behind its competitors. As the Great Wall tilts its resources and business more towards external suppliers, it is gradually being marginalized.

Industry analysis suggests that this dissolution may be related to multiple factors:

One reason is that Great Wall Motors' intelligent driving business has shifted to suppliers such as Yuanrong Qixing, resulting in a contraction of orders; Secondly, capital has cooled down the popularity of the assisted driving track, making financing more difficult; The third issue is that the technological roadmap has not followed the trend of the industry's big model, resulting in a decline in product competitiveness, coupled with internal management problems, ultimately leading to the end.
