On June 30th, OpenAI's OpenAI Global Affairs account recently published an article titled "Chinese Progress at the Front". It mentioned OpenAI's attention to Chinese AI companies' intelligence spectrum and stated that it has made "significant progress" in the global AI competition.

OpenAI believes that Zhipu, as a company established only in 2019, is a cutting-edge representative in the field of big models in China. Through healthy competition and development, it is regarded as an important force in building an independent and autonomous AI ecosystem in China. OpenAI pointed out that Zhipu has achieved remarkable results overseas and has exported infrastructure and technical support to multiple countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Kenya.

OpenAI internal analysts believe that the "Chinese version of OpenAI localization product" launched by Zhipu has made significant progress before penetrating these markets in Europe and America. When citing OpenAI's blog post, some media explicitly pointed out that Zhipu has made OpenAI feel the challenge of China clearly.

At the beginning of this year, Zhipu has been included in the entity list by the U.S. Department of Commerce. OpenAI still chooses to name its progress in the field of going to sea, which was roast by netizens as "reverse advertising for Chinese AI". As one of the six AI tigers, Zhipu has developed the GLM series models, built a complete product matrix of AI assistant Zhipu Qingyan, code model CodeGeeX, multimodal model CogVLM, etc., and launched the listing coaching process this year.
