On May 22nd, Ye Huping, Secretary General of the Low Altitude Geographic Information and Aviation Key Laboratory of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Xu Weiyue, Senior Vice President of Beidou Fuxi Information Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhu Jidong, Product Expert and Researcher of the Marketing Department of China Siwei Surveying and Mapping Technology Co., Ltd., held a roundtable dialogue at the 2025 Global Spatio Temporal Intelligence Conference (WGDC2025) - Low Altitude Economy Forum, focusing on in-depth discussions on "new infrastructure for low altitude economy and new challenges for urban airspace", proposing new paths for industry development.
Ye Huping believes that when planning routes in the low altitude field, it is necessary to fully demonstrate the site selection issue, take into account the takeoff and landing points of the station, consider the users related to the scene, and take into account the mutual influence with the ground, rather than building everywhere like the current "pancake style" approach. At the end of the day, the upper level law for digital infrastructure in the low altitude economy is not yet perfect, and it is not a game of chess for the whole country. At present, the mature scenarios for low altitude economy are logistics and electricity, and manned transportation will catch up within three to five years.
In Xu Weiyue's view, low altitude economy is currently an extension of ground economy. The construction of Beidou Fuxi station is differentiated according to different business types, mainly to solve the problem of information collection and exchange of people and things at the terminal level. For example, for the site selection of stations used for government inspections and intelligent data collection, the company currently tends to cooperate with iron tower companies to ensure power and transmission supply; The selection of logistics stations mainly relies on partners and takes into account ground logistics nodes, especially in urgent, difficult, and expensive scenarios. At present, BeiDou Fuxi has anchored the sub track of low altitude air routes, facing cities and their surrounding areas.
Zhu Jidong pointed out that the preset scenarios are consumer scenarios such as drones or vertical takeoff and landing vehicles. The segmented track anchored by China's 4D in the low altitude economy is the low altitude route map, using our world-class satellites. He believes that the currently clear commercial scenarios are nearby stations such as tourist attractions and airports.
