On May 22nd, Dou Mingming, Chairman of China Merchants Fund, gave a speech at the 2025 Global Spatio Temporal Intelligence Conference (WGDC2025) - Commercial Aerospace New Decade Forum, stating that there are still difficulties in the development of the domestic commercial aerospace industry, such as the widening gap with SpaceX; The industrial chain is long, cross regional, and severely fragmented; Constellation planning and construction involve a lot of duplication and waste; Not familiar with overseas companies and markets; Low cost and fast iteration are still relatively difficult in the domestic market; Focusing on traditional scenarios makes it difficult to achieve profitability, financing, and commercialization in a closed loop.
Dou Mingming believes that the integration of air, space, earth, and sea is an organic system. Ground transportation needs to be managed, the financial system needs to be managed, and space also needs to be managed. From this perspective, the industry can pay more attention to space data assets.
In addition, Dou Mingming suggested that enterprises, industries, and governments should work together to achieve a closed loop at the commercial level, break through the traditional natural resource market, avoid single financing landing for enterprises, and strengthen international cooperation.
