On May 21st, the WGDC25 Global Spatiotemporal Intelligence Conference, guided by Zhongguancun Science City and hosted by China's leading technology industry service organization Taibo Network, grandly kicked off in Beijing. The theme of this conference is "Spatiotemporal Intelligence Refactoring the World", attracting thousands of top scientists, industry elites, investors, and technology developers from commercial aerospace, low altitude economy, satellite applications, map and location services, smart travel, VR large space, geographic spatial intelligence and other related fields of the spatial-temporal intelligence industry to gather together, providing innovative insights for the cross-border integration and development of industries in the changing era, and jointly exploring the evolution and leap of AI+spatial-temporal technology. As a special invited partner of this conference, TomTom was invited to share new technologies and applications, and to communicate and cooperate with numerous enterprises from different tracks on site.
At the conference, TomTom was invited to participate in the main forum and the Map and Location Services forum. Mr. Anthony Chen, Vice President of Global Sales and Head of Greater China Business at TomTom, stated in his speech that everything from the steering wheel and check-in points to smart city planning is driven by maps. He believes that the speed at which map merchants update a map is very fast now, with map updates taking only 30 milliseconds, which is also the most important development for the map industry in the future. Chen Jiancheng introduced that TomTom combines with Amazon Meta、 Microsoft and other internet giants have built and launched Orbis maps based on 57 million POIs. This map combines the advantages of professional maps, self built maps, and open-source maps to maintain high quality, flexibility, and wide data coverage.
Ms. Sally Zhong, Strategic Customer Service Director of TomTom Greater China, pointed out that TomTom's Orbis map gathers global forces to jointly draw. At the end of 2022, TomTom, along with Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta, jointly initiated the establishment of the Map Foundation. Over 26 global companies have joined, including Hyundai, Volkswagen, Uber, and others, and the number is constantly increasing. TomTom Orbis Maps launches AI powered platform. Utilize AI intelligence to maximize the combination of open and proprietary elements, and achieve automatic detection of over 95% of changes.
In addition, the main forum unveiled the Innovation Awards 2025 annual innovation ranking. Liu Yuzhang, founder and chairman of Taibo Network, and Zhao Wenbo, deputy chief engineer of the High Score Special Project of the National Space Administration and academician of the International Academy of Astronautics, presented awards to representatives of some award-winning enterprises. TomTom has been successfully selected as one of the top 100 most innovative companies in 2025 and has been awarded the title of "Most Innovative Company of the Year" on the global market. TomTom's real-time traffic service has also won the "Most Innovative Product of the Year" award.
TomTom also set up a coffee break during the conference, where many attendees tasted cutting-edge and innovative technologies amidst the aroma of coffee.
